    Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is a classic entry into Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series. In it, you play Tommy Vercetti, a man adopted into the criminal underworld and recently released from prison, getting involved once more with his chosen family's activities in Vice City, based off of real-life Miami. The game features missions but also lets you drive around, check out the city, distract yourself and engage in wanton violence.

  • What can Grand Theft Auto: Vice City run on?

    Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is not officially supported on Linux, but will run properly on Wine. However, Vice City is available for Windows and Mac OS X computers, as well as for iOS and Android. It has multiple console releases, with the earliest being for the PlayStation.

  • Is it free?

    No. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was a commercial product when released and it is still sold today, though it is cheaper than its original MSRP on most platforms.

  • How do I make the game run faster?

    On some platforms, you can change the video settings in the pause menu. On others, such as the PlayStation 2, the game should already run at the correct speed if the console isn't damaged.

  • How do I win Grand Theft Auto: Vice City?

    Complete all of the game's story missions. During the story, you will need to buy at least six properties and complete their missions as well to unlock the final story missions. One of these must be the Print Works.

  • How do I make money?

    The simplest way to make money is to perform the taxi, firefighter or paramedic missions. While in an appropriate vehicle, you may start these missions at any time. On the PlayStation 2 version, press R3. In other versions, the controls will differ. Complete these missions to make money.

    By committing crimes, you will gain wanted stars, and the police will more aggressively pursue you, eventually joined by the miitary. Avoid committing crimes or fighting police for time to lose wanted star(s).

  • What weapons are available in Vice City?

    Vice City offers a huge variety of weapons, starting with Tommy's fists. The largest category is melee weapons, such as baseball bats, cleavers and chainsaws. There are various handguns, shotguns, assault and sniper rifles, submachine guns, and more. The most unique and powerful handheld weapons are the grenade launcher, flamethrower and minigun.

  • What is the fastest car in Vice City?

    The Infernus is the fastest, but it is very fragile. The Cheetah is the most practical fast car in the game, though it is hard to find on the streets. Some planes and other air vehicles are technically faster than the Cheetah.

  • What is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories?

    Vice City Stories is a separate game, taking place in the same overall world but with a different story and set of missions. It is set 2 years before the original Vice City.
